The Leland Chamber of Commerce presents The Kindness Revolution™

What is The Kindness Revolution™?

The Kindness Revolution™ is a national non-profit organization with the mission of raising awareness of values, such as kindness, in leadership, customer service, schools, and communities. The program is championed locally by the Washington County Farm Bureau, who is working to activate kindness recognition programs in our local schools and to promote kindness in our community.

The Leland Chamber has embraced The Kindness Revolution™ as a means to promote kindness in Leland’s business community.

How can my business get involved?

We are asking our Chamber members to sign up to participate in The Kindness Revolution™. By signing the Kindness Pledge you are committing to promote the program within your business to your employees and throughout the community by declaring that you are a “Kind Business”.

What do I have to do?

Businesses who sign the Kindness Pledge commit to the following:

  1. Inform all employees about your participation in the program and require every employee to watch a brief training video that will help them recognize and practice kindness in the work environment.
  2. Proudly display your commitment to The Kindness Revolution™ in your place of business. The Chamber will provide you with a window sticker and electronic versions of the program logo that you can include on counter signage, table tents, menus and other print materials regularly produced and displayed by your business.
  3. Hear feedback from customers and address problems in a timely manner. The Chamber will administer and fund a customer feedback line that allows customers to send anonymous text messages referencing their experience at local businesses. We will share any feedback about your business with you and will work together with you and your employees to address any issues and respond to any complaints.

What will the Leland Chamber do to promote my business as a member of The Kindness Revolution™?

We want the world to know that Leland is a “Kind Community”! By offering this program to our members, we are committing to the following:

  1. Spotlighting a “Kind Business” in The Leland Progress (at least once a month).
  2. Regularly distributing press releases to local and regional media outlets describing the program, announcing new members and telling the story of any notable outcomes.
  3. Monitoring the customer feedback line and working with your business to address any complaints.
  4. Honoring one “Kind Business of the Year” at our Annual Member Banquet.

I already pay dues to be a Member of the Leland Chamber. Is there any cost to be a member of The Kindness Revolution™?

Our Community Champion, The Washington County Farm Bureau, has kindly committed to covering the cost of offering this program to our Leland businesses. There is no cost to your business to join this effort, but we do require that you be a Member of the Leland Chamber of Commerce to participate. All Business Members or Nonprofit Partners in good standing are eligible for this program. Household Members are not eligible.
